Megan Payne

Megan oversees underwriting and general operations of the Company. She reviews and analyzes new loan applications as well as manages the relationships with current clients. With over 20 years of experience in litigation finance, she has worked with hundreds of firms across the country to structure financing arrangements that fit their unique needs. Megan also plays an important role in developing strategic marketing plans for the Company.

Prior to joining Counsel Financial, Megan was employed at M&T Bank as a credit analyst as well as a commercial lender. While at M&T Bank, she was invited into its intensive Management Development Program—an exclusive training curriculum targeted at forthcoming business operations leaders.

She received a Master of Business Administration from the William E. Simon Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Rochester, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Rochester. Megan was elected to join Phi Beta Kappa during the junior year of her undergraduate studies.

Megan lives in Clarence, New York with her husband and three children. She is very active in volunteering through her two youngest children’s school. For many years, Megan was also a committee member for the Mikey's Way Foundation's largest annual fundraisers.
